Letters outside the Latin alphabet (for example Chinese, Japanese, Korean) are dropped from the slug. When you set a maximum length, the slug is cut at a word boundary so it never ends mid-word.

Frequently asked questions
What does removing Vietnamese accents mean?
It converts accented letters into plain ones, for example "Việt Nam" becomes "Viet Nam". The letter "đ" becomes "d" and "Đ" becomes "D".
What is a slug and why use one?
A slug is the last part of a URL that describes the page, for example /summer-sale-2026. A short, lowercase, accent-free slug makes links readable, easy to share and friendly to search engines.
Should I use hyphens or underscores in a slug?
Use hyphens (-). Google recommends hyphens to separate words in URLs, while underscores are not treated as word separators.
How long should a slug be?
As short as possible, usually 3 to 5 key words. You can set a maximum length and the tool cuts at a word boundary so the slug does not end mid-word.
Is my text stored or sent anywhere?
No. The tool runs entirely in your browser, makes no server calls and stores nothing. Reloading the page clears your text.
